Youth leaders became disaster awareness trainers as part of a move to enhance cooperation between the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The first phase of the training program was completed. 93 Youth Leaders received “Disaster Awareness Trainers’ Training” between July 6 and 18, 2020. New trainers will provide disaster awareness training at youth camps and centers.
Cooperation between the AFAD and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in disaster preparedness continues. Within the context of this cooperation, AFAD Directorate General for Training initiated “trainers’ training program”. 93 Youth Leaders received “Disaster Awareness Trainers’ Training” between July 6 and 18, 2020. Youth leaders who participated in the training program in groups of four will now start working in the field.
Youth Training Coordinated by Provincial AFAD Directors
Youth leaders who successfully completed the training program will give disaster awareness training under the coordination of Provincial AFAD Directors. These training programs will be offered at youth centers and youth camps for 12-15 years old children and 16-22 years old youngsters. It is also planned to provide training to 22 and 29 years old youngsters.
Volunteer Camp Leaders and Trainers are in the Row
It is also planned to develop the program in the future in order to reach more children and young people. It is considered to include trainers and volunteer camp leaders to the trainers’ training program.
