About the Earthquake in Kahramanmaraş - 15

An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale took place in Pazarcık, Kahramanmaraş at 04.17 hours on February 6, 2023. A total of 648 earthquakes occurred including a 7.6-magnitude earthquake that hit Elbistan.
According to initially available information from SAKOM, 7,108 people have lost their lives and 40,910 individuals have been injured in Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Adana, Adıyaman, Osmaniye, Hatay, Kilis and Malatya.
70,818 AFAD Family Tent was installed in the region for the earthquake victims.
96,670 search and rescue workers from AFAD, PAK, Gendarmerie, DAK, Ministry of National Defense, UMKE, Fire Department, Ministry of National Education, Güven, NGOs, Volunteers, Security Units and Local Support Teams. A total of 5,309 teams from countries have contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to offer assistance and have been deployed to earthquake areas.
A total of 5,434 vehicles, including construction equipment including Excavators, tractors, cranes, dozers, trucks, water tenders, trailers, graders and vacuum trucks have been deployed to the affected areas.
31 governors and more than 70 district governors and 68 provincial directors have been assigned to disaster areas.
The Air and Land Forces, the Gendarmerie and the Coast Guard have built an air bridge from Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir with 122 aircrafts.
A total of 10 ships, 9 ships by the Naval Forces, and 1 ship by the Coast Guard Command were employed to deliver personnel and materials to the affected area.
A total of 1.639.774.016,074 TL was sent to 9 provinces in the disaster area, 250.000.000 TL from the Ministry of Family and Social Services and 1.389.774.016,04 TL from Disaster Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) as emergency fund.
Disaster Sheltering Group
A total of 300,000 blankets, 123,395 beds and 92.738 medical tents were sent to the 10 quake-hit provinces. 70,818 AFAD Family Tent was installed in the region for the earthquake victims.
Disaster Nourishment Group
The Turkish Red Crescent sent 79 catering vehicles, 16 mobile kitchens, 1 mobile food bank, 5 field kitchens, 2 mobile ovens and 86 service vehicles. 34 field kitchen were sent by the Ministry of National Defence, 2 mobile kitchens and 1 mobile oven were sent by the Gendarmerie, Humanitarian Relief Foundation and foundations of Hayrat, Beşir and İnsiyatif have sent one mobile kitchens each.
512,436 units of hot meal, 322,264 units of soup, 490,813 liters of water, 404,040 pieces of bread, 4,450 doner sandwiches, 1,314,730 treats and 16,700 packages of tea and 151,715 units of beverage were distributed to the quake-hit areas.
Disaster Psychosocial Support Group
4 mobilized Social Service Centers are charged in Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Osmaniye, and Malatya provinces. 1,488 officers and 132 vehicles are sent to the region.
