Antalya Manavgat Forest Fire

Fire started in the forest area on July 28 at the Yeniköy neighborhood of Manavgat district in the Antalya province. Teams responded to the fire from air and land. 1 plane, 1 unmanned aerial vehicle, 19 helicopters, 192 sprinkler trucks, 30 work machines, 960 personnel and 30 water tenders are taking part in the response activities.

According to the information received from the Health Disaster Coordination Center (SAKOM), 51 people were affected due to the fire. The Health Ministry sent 19 ambulances, 6 UMKE and 1 mobile command vehicle to the area.

Antalya AFAD Provincial Directorate assigned 4 vehicles and 14 personnel in the area. Moreover, 19 sprinkler trucks and 3 fire trucks arrived in the area from  Isparta, Burdur, Konya, Karaman and Mersin.

People living at homes located in the fire area are evacuated. Many homes, workplaces, agricultural lands, stables, greenhouses and vehicles are damaged dur to fire.

As a precaution, 2 student dormitories and 4 pensions with 1.300 bed capacity are kept ready for disaster victims.

Developments are monitored by AFAD.
