Until today, 69.140 people have been taken under quarantine under the coordination of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). AFAD is providing free transportation services to those who completed their time under quarantine. AFAD transported more than 53 thousand people to their homes after they were released from medical observation. It will also transport 15.143 people who are still under observation after they complete their 14 day long quarantine period.
AFAD firmly cooperates with other state offices which work 24 hours and 7 days in order to reduce the harms of Covid-19 to a minimum in Turkey. More than a thousand AFAD personnel and vehicles are working with the Vefa Social Support Groups. It offers food, hygiene and cleaning supplies to people who are under observation in dormitories. It also provides transportation services to those who have completed their observation period. Another thousand AFAD personnel work at Vefa Call Centers established in order to respond the needs of those who cannot go out. AFAD also allocated important amount of money for all these activities aiming at reducing the coronavirus risk in the society.
AFAD Gives Support to Activities in Dormitories
AFAD is cooperating with the Credit and Dormitories Institution, the Police Department, the Turkish Red Crescent, the Ministry of Family and Social Policies and giving support to activities organized in an effort to provide services to people who are under quarantine in the dormitories. Hygiene and cleaning supplies, nutrition needs and health needs of those under quarantine in dormitories are met by these state institutions. AFAD is giving logistics services and disinfecting dormitories.
People Released From Observation Period Are Transported Home
AFAD has transported people who were released from observation period in 164 dormitories in 77 cities. AFAD carried out this activity with 1.997 personnel and 425 vehicles. It carries out this activity for free. Till now, AFAD transported 53.153 people who have completed 14 days under quarantine.
AFAD Shows Loyalty to Senior Citizens
1.085 AFAD personnel are offering service to our valuable seniors and those suffering from chronic illnesses as a part of its activities in Loyalty Social Support Group. Our personnel are delivering cargos for our people who cannot go out due to serious risk of new type corona virus. AFAD vehicles are used for the transportation of food baskets, medicines etc. Vehicles are also used for the transportation of people who have to go to hospitals or banks.
Until today, AFAD has spent a total of TL 71.294.214, TL 55.225.500 of it for the services provided in dormitories and TL 16.068.714 for activities organized by the Loyalty Social Support Group.
