A vessel carrying approximately 1000 tons of humanitarian aid from Türkiye to Lebanon arrived in the Trablusşam Port of Beirut.
58 trucks of humanitarian aid was collected with the support of 19 different nongovernmental organizations under the coordination of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) upon the orders of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and its journey to Lebanon started at the Taşucu Port of Mersin with the “Kindness Vessel”.
The Kindness Vessel was greeted in Beirut by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Beirut Ali Barış Ulusoy, Head of the Lebanese Supreme Aid Committee General Muhammed Hayır, Trablus Port Chairman Ahmet Tamir, AFAD officials, Turkish NGO representatives and Lebanese security officials.
Türkiye’s Ambassador to Beirut Ali Barış Ulusoy said that the second delivery of humanitarian aid arrived in the country during the holy month of Ramadan and Türkiye is a true friend that does not leave its Lebanese brothers alone during hard times.
“Two countries share a history and have cultural and humanitarian ties. Welfare of Lebanon and the Lebanese people is the priority of Türkiye and the Turkish people,” said Ulusoy.
Meanwhile, Head of Lebanese Supreme Aid Committee General Muhammed Hayır thanked President Erdoğan for his support and expressed his wish that both countries would maintain good relations in the future.
