The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) is installing “Disaster Training Tents” on the streets of cities and districts of the country as a part of the 2021 Disaster Training Year. 112 square meter tents are delivered to 81 cities of the country. Approximately 50 thousand people have attended training programs organized in the installed tents in 3 days. In total, 12,594,675 people attended face to face and online Disaster Awareness Training programs.
AFAD organized training programs in the streets in an effort to provide easy access to the program. As a part of 2021 Disaster Training Year, “Disaster Training Tents” were installed on the streets of cities and districts. A total of 47 thousand and 213 people have attended training programs organized in the installed tents in 3 days.
Governor Türker Öksüz made the opening of AFAD Awareness Training Tent installed in the city center of Kars. Governor Öksüz visited the awareness stands inside the tent and received information from Regional Director of AFAD Oktay Ayğan.
“Disaster Training Tents” were installed in the three districts of Bursa. Disaster awareness training programs are available in Yenişehir, İznik and Mustafakemalpaşa districts of the city.
Training videos were shown and trainers give training programs for people in the disaster awareness tent as a part of 2021 Disaster Training Year. Moreover, search and rescue devices were put on display in front of the tents.
Training and awareness programs continue in the disaster training tent in Demokrasi Street of Gaziantep in order to raise disaster awareness among people.
About 2021 Disaster Awareness Training:
2021 was declared as the Disaster Training Year in Turkey in order to develop disaster awareness in the society, decrease disaster risk and make a change in habits regarding handling of disasters. The aims is to reach 51 million people in 2021 as a part of Turkey Disaster Training Year.
Activities within this framework are carried out in cooperation with public offices and institutions, chambers, unions, nongovernmental organizations, private sector companies and universities under the coordination of governors’ offices in provinces and local administrations in districts.
Since the beginning of 2021 till today, 12,594,675 people attended face to face and online Disaster Awareness Training programs.
